This application can be availed at any location at any point of time. It provides enquiry services on traffic offences, VISA application status, to call and locate nearby police stations, which are listed based on GPS coordinates and also for making emergency calls to 9999. It provides latest news from ROP categorised as news, accident news, announcements and crime as well as information on various services provided by ROP including procedures, required documents, service locations and fees. The application also has frequently asked questions on various services and ROP telephone directory information.
“This is a small application of just 892KB, which is easy to download and use on all Android devices. All information is available in Arabic and English on this application,” the ROP said. The app is developed by Team Directorate General IT of ROP.
Minutes after the update of the application, it has already started getting accolades from the public on the Google Play Store website.
Jameel Al Sumri, a resident, said: “This is a major contribution made by ROP. And after update, it certainly deserves 5-star rating. All previous glitches have been removed from this application.”
Fhm Amr said: “the aesthetic look of the application is beautiful, simple and easy. I hope this application will continue to be updated.”
Salim Al Rashdi, another resident said: “The ROP has set a good precedence for other institutions of the Sultanate to emulate. It’s a good example of how to make services easy and user friendly.”
