The 'E-government shift' seminar will kick-off Sunday at Al Bustan Palace Hotel under the auspices of Sheikh al Fadhl bin Mohammed al-Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers in the presence of a number of ministers, undersecretaries, directors of IT at the public organizations under the ITA.

Dr. Salim bin Sultan al-Ruzaiqi, CEO of the Information Technology Authority said that the organization of the seminar comes out of the importance of advising public organization of the e-government shift plan, which has been developed by ITA and approved by the Council of Ministers.

He pointed out that the plan aims at improving ways of providing the e-government services and creating the desired shifts towards e-government within certain controls and standards and timeframes.

He affirmed that the aim of this seminar is to raise awareness of the e-government shift plan in terms of aims, implementation stages, and controls of implementation, evaluation and assessment methodologies, measures and tools that will be followed to measure development made by the different institutions in their bid to develop their e-services.

He added that the seminar will cover the strategic vision, the executive measures for the e-government shift, the indicators and tools to measure the public e-shift, the methodology and frameworks of this shift.

It is worth mentioning that this seminar comes in line with the national strategy for e-Oman and e-government in a bid to measure the achievements made in preparing infrastructure, developing the e-government services and building national capacities and skills in the field of IT to enhance the e-government services.
