Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, the founder and president of KnowledgeOman said: “The government sector has done an amazing job of introducing an electronic means where public can do their day-to-day transactions simply via the world-wide web. We have realised that it is important that we combine all the entry points into a single link under one roof, and therefore we have created KO e-Gateway to serve the community in Oman”.
Muddasir Rizvi, IT project manager of KnowledgeOman, added: “KO e-Gateway connects the community in Oman to useful, educational websites, and governmental institutions where users can track their traffic fines, follow-up with university applications or even get their latest stock market updates from the Muscat Securities Market website. KO e-Gateway is all about finding links that really connect you to e-Government in Oman”.
KnowledgeOman.com was launched on April 1, 2008 and has attracted over 600 members and 30,000 visitors across Oman.
An Arabic version of KnowledgeOman.com had been introduced early this month to cater the needs and wants of Arabic speaking visitors.
The KnowledgeOman Arabic is managed by a separate dedicated team of professionals who are led by Tariq Hilal Al Barwani. Users can visit the website by logging on www.knowledgeoman.com.
