eOman, the Sultanate of Oman’s e-government awareness initiative, is organising road shows all over the regions and governorates of the Sultanate. After the triumphant launch of face-to-face awareness campaigns in Sohar, Ibri and Nizwa, the eOman road show is being held in Salalah from August 12 and it will run until August 23.

The inaugural event was held under the auspices of Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, commerce and industry undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on the August 12, in the Dhofar Hall of Crowne Plaza Salalah.

Dr Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, chief executive officer of Information Technology Authority, delivered the inaugural address on the eOman initiatives and updated on the ongoing e-Government projects of the Sultanate. A visual movie on eOman was screened during this event.

eOman awareness activities and ITA orientation sessions are being held between 4pm and 12am at the ITA Stand at the Municipal Recreation Centre, and it will continue until August 23.

In addition, there will be a Business Day at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Salalah branch on August 22, from 10am to 12.30am for enlightening the business sector about the potentials and benefits of eOman.

Further focused group eOman awareness sessions will be held at the Thumrait, Taqah, Mirbat and Rakhyut wilayats during the road show.

The marketing team of ITA will be visiting the Omani Women’s Associations in these wilayats in an effort to reach out to all sections of the society to spread eOman awareness.
