The city of Nanhai has announced plans to launch digital TV e-government services, in collaboration with the local TV network and a digital content provider, China Digital Media Corporation. 'Sunshine e-government' is the first information service provided by the newly built Digital TV Data Broadcasting Platform for Nanhai Digital Television services. Using a remote control TV viewers will be able to access various kinds of government information, such as government contacts and policy, social affairs information and government-to-citizen procedures.
"We are excited about the benefits that Digital Television can bring to the government and its citizens. The service is a very effective way to convey government information to every household," said Alex Lai, a spokesman for state-owned Nanhai Radio And Television Network Company. "With our cooperation with Arcotect, we aim to improve the e-government service continuously and to bridge the government and its citizens closer together."
