According to Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, Director of Municipality Centres Department, the service would boost online payments from customers who use the civic body's more than 70 electronic services offered through the e-government website. He added that e-Dirham cards can be purchased from Counter No. 10 (Services Office of the Municipality Centres Department) at the Customer Service Centre in the Municipality headquarters.
'This new service will not only speed up procedures for our customers, but will also offer them a safe and easy method of online payment without any additional charges,' Bin Zayed said.
In October 2003, Dubai Municipality, in coordination with Dubai e-Government, introduced online payment system for the municipality services, enabling customers to do a complete online transaction and doing away with the need to visit the Municipality.
This service has been designed to allow the customers to centrally view and process their transaction fees for various services requested online through the Centralized Billing Service or individually through the corresponding e-services.
