eDurar is a gateway to comprehensive information and services that saves users from being lost and tangled in the World Wide Web

The brand eDurar first started off as a simple information hub, but soon developed into a comprehensive portal for residents and organisations in the UAE that can, for instance, help you find a repairman for your broken kitchen appliance, track down the latest brand offers, or even list your pre-loved belongings for sale, to name a few.

"It started with the concept of helping individuals find services or products or brands in an easy, direct way without wasting time. This was further developed in a way that it not only provides solutions to individuals, but also helps commercial entities seek services and reach out to their target audience," says Mohammed Miqdadi, the Managing Director of eDurar.

It currently possesses a powerful search engine that can possibly rival Google in terms of inter-city searches. On site, a simple keyword unlocks the gate to immense information that can be sorted according to interest and locality.

In addition, users can also take advantage of the "e-Government" tab, which assists to find the right authority to contact for various needs.

"There are a number of e-services now offered by the UAE government, but not many residents are familiar with which service to access for a specific requirement. The forms available on site help users select their issue and directs them to the appropriate entity," Miqdadi adds.

The Virtual Mall tab compiles details of shopping centres across Dubai allowing users to locate their favourite retail outlets and plan shopping sprees. Furthermore, users can list items for sale in the Classifieds and Motors section, thus broadening community reach.

From a business perspective, eDurar offers an exclusive mobile-based micro targeting platform that can effectively reach out to over 20 million potential audiences directly on their smartphones. The system works on a geo-target basis, meaning irrespective of their telecom provider, language, or whether they are a resident or tourist, users will receive real-time offers and relevant advertisements on their mobile devices, giving brands instant visibility while respecting the smartphone user's privacy, says Miqdadi.

"What makes us different is our database and the integration of the services in one platform for both companies and individuals. We are also enabling mobile-friendly features, which we believe is where the future of e-commerce lies," he adds.

Time is precious, and eDurar acknowledges that by compiling a list of tenders that are sorted by certifications and quality standards, thus helping companies improve efficiency.

Looking ahead, Miqdadi mentions that eDurar is preparing a special module and payment gateway centred on SMEs that will be revealed in the coming months.

"We have been developing this concept while keeping in mind the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in converting Dubai into a smart city. We believe that this is the future and something that will be heavily used by everyone in Dubai soon," Miqdadi says. "We want to be a one-stop solutions provider for both consumers as well as businesses. Our aim is to give exclusive and meaningful services that will serve the community," he concludes.
