Under the title: "The United Arab Emirates after e-Government", the bulletin said that the turning of ideas into production tools and reality took long centuries in the past, but those centuries shrunk to decades and then to just years and months. Now, we now live in a different age, in which ideas turn to reality thanks to the products of technology of applications and tools which have made it easier for humans to achieve their mission of daily life, and helped the exchange of experiences and knowledge between communities.
The bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, re-affirms the fact that these changes have touched the working methods of Governments and tools of production, which have been through many fundamental changes even as the type of government changed and new terminology appeared to describe these changes, such as "e-Government and Smart Government.
The 2nd Government Summit, which was held in Dubai last week, witnessed evidence that confirms that the U.A.E. is one of the most prestigious countries in the field of a pattern shift to Smart Government as a further stage to so-called e-Government.
During the Government Summit, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, urged on the application of Smart Government as he announced that the U.A.E. is now transferring to the post e-Government stage through the provision of government services to citizens via mobile phones and devices, and facilitate public access to them anywhere and anytime, in accordance with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In conclusion, the bulletin highlighted the CNN American news channel and its tribute to the Smart Government initiative and its confirmation that the initiative will strengthen the U.A.E.'s stature globally, activating government services provided to different segments of community, as well as reducing their costs.
