According to a statement sent by the civic body on Sunday, this step has been taken to provide customer-centric services by providing them access to the kiosks in places that are easier for them to visit.
The new digital kiosks will enable customers to process their transactions through self-service interactive screens built at multi-faceted high technical specifications capable of facilitating transactions quickly.
The first phase will see the five most frequently related services requested by customers made available at the electronic kiosks, which include those relating to land and property - 60 per cent of the total number of transactions handled by the municipality. Gradually, the e-services will be expanded so that customers can process transactions through the ADM’s website.
Customers will need to use their identity card to upload the basic data, after which the customer can pay the fees via a credit card or in cash by directly feeding the banknotes into the system.
Once the payment process is completed, a machine-generated receipt will be issued to the customer, and a printout of the required official documents will be provided by the same system.
In a later stage, the services of government and quasi-governmental institutions as well as service-providers will be integrated in the kiosks’ service through the respective portal of each entity.
Mohammed Ali Al Murar, director of Customer Service at ADM, stressed that upgrading municipal customer services is aimed at streamlining and accelerating the processing of transactions as per international standards with the least potential errors. He lauded the new e-kiosk system in reducing transactions-related errors, compared to the traditional paper-based methods.
“The customer service strategy of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has hit many objectives and gained the confidence and satisfaction of the public, thanks to the significant progress made in the quality and level of services rendered in terms of accuracy, speed, and a work environment richly enhanced by competent staff and advanced technologies,” he added.
