Transforming Government since 2001
The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and Musanada met to discuss implementing and launching the Abu Dhabi Shared Government Enterprise Resources Planning (SGRP) Program. The SGERP program is part of the IT and technology project, which involves implementing an electronic shared system that allows government entities to manage their internal and external resources.

Musabbah Yafour Al Romaithi, DMA Finance Manager, welcomed Musanada representatives and thanked them for their efforts in implementing the program. Firas Sulaiman, Program Director, lauded the DMA's cooperation in successfully implementing the SGERP.

He explained the role of Musanada as a government shared services company, and thanked the DMA for hosting the meeting and facilitating the success of the project.

Musanada will provide an electronic platform, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and other projects in coordination with ADSIC, the strategic partner of many governmental entities. Among the design of this program, IT security is a priority and high standards of encryption will be provided within the system to safeguard the information. Another important feature that characterises the system is smart reporting. Also, Oracle specifications will be added and this is an improvement to past practices and systems, as the new system has taken into consideration the cross government needs to ensure linkage without affecting the decentralization process.

The DMA will have its integrated ERP system by the end of 2011, which will be followed by a strategic platform that will allow the DMA to make changes and modifications by the beginning of 2012.

The implementation of this program will begin by analyzing and gathering information about the current government situation, to customize the ERP according to each entity's needs. The next step will be integrating the financial and HR systems within one system with specific characteristics for each entity. The final step will be the actual implementation of the system within the Abu Dhabi government.

H.E. Mohamed Shareef, Undersecretary of the DMA, commented on the program saying, "This is part of the DMA's commitment to the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander, and President of the Executive Council of the Abu Dhabi Emirate, to enhance governance in the Emirate. H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan also ordered the establishment of a governance committee for this purpose."

H.E. Mohamed Sghayer Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of support services, said, "The SGERP aims to provide the Abu Dhabi government entities with ERP services that are offered through a common platform, to provide centralized reporting capabilities that empower the government with the flexibility needed to achieve our leaders' ambitions and the 2030 vision."
