This was announced by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO, DEWA, while signing an agreement last Thursday with the Dubai e-government on the e-learning and training of its cadres.
Al Tayer said, “The agreement aims at developing the human resources via e-learning. It stems from our belief that Dubai e-Government has the technical capabilities, the human skills and the necessary experience in the field of e-learning. We can benefit from that experience to improve DEWA’s staff performance and productivity.”
“DEWA has gone a long way in introducing modern technologies and electronic applications in all its operations. It was one of the first government departments to inaugurate a website in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stressing the necessity of modernising the work tools to simplify the procedures,” he noted.
Salem Khamis Al Shaer, director of electronic services, Dubai e-government, praised DEWA’s joining the e-learning process. “It underscores the authority’s interest in pushing forward the e-learning process. We are now focusing on governmental departments and determining the best ways to train and improve their staff’s competence,” he said.
