The new generation package was unveiled today at a ceremony held at Emirates Tower Hotel in the presence of senior Customs officials from around the UAE and representatives from Dubai World Group were also present at the occasion.
During the ceremony, DC World also received the ISO 9001/2000 certificate from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) for adhering to the highest international quality standards in its management systems and investing resources in maintaining them.
The upgraded Mirsal World is designed to adapt to different electronic environments, and incorporates simplified working procedures, including online submission and approval of manifests in a paper-free system.
Mirsal World was fully conceived, designed and executed by DC World experts and it conforms completely to Customs administrative standards set by the World Customs Organization and meets the requirements of the World Trade Organization.
Hamad Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO, DC World, said on the occasion: “Mirsal World is a new generation application in the field of Customs Clearance and Control, with a proven track record in facilitating free trade movement. Our success in managing Djibouti Customs owes itself to implementing Mirsal World in a systematic manner. I am proud to say our national employees proved themselves capable of taking on the challenge of going global.
“DC World is now ready to offer the full package of Mirsal World to all Customs departments seeking to modernize their operations and to improve trading volumes and revenues.”
The online clearance process has proved not only efficient but also cost-effective. Its development also fits well with Dubai’s e-government initiatives.
Mr Al Mazrooei said: “Our activities are entirely in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. We constantly work towards an efficient system of e-government. As Customs administrators we see this as a favorable opportunity for establishing electronic links with all our stakeholders on the international horizon.”
Commenting on the ISO 2000/9001 Certification awarded by LRQA, Mr Al Mazrooei said:
“We are proud to have obtained the ISO quality certification for our procedures and processes. I express my deepest thanks and appreciation to all staff members of DC World whose dedicated efforts and team spirit have made this achievement possible.”
Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance is an independent leading supplier of management system certification of international standards.
