According to the system, the MoH will make a fingerprint database of all UAE expatriates who have applied for a medical fitness certificate or health card. These fingerprints and the Medical Fitness results will be sent to the MoL’s database, which is needed while applying for a labour permit.
Al Kaabi said: “There will be no need for signatures, while the paperwork will be considerably reduced due to the introduction of this facility by the e-government.” Al Quttami added that in the future, the ministry would establish such links with the Ministry of Education as well. Talking to Khaleej Times, Salim Abdalla, CEP of Global Information Technology, which has set up the www.uaesmartforms.com portal said that the processing time of the transaction would be reduced dramatically.
He also said that typing errors are eliminated because of the audited and accurate data, while the adjusted photographs of workers saved in the MoL’s database will be retrieved while filling out the forms.
