South Korea is prepared to provide the UAE with its experiences and knowhow in the fields of e-government, broadband infrastructure including WiBro (wireless broadband) and DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) technologies, said Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook.
Myeong-sook was speaking on the eve of an official visit to the UAE, during which she will have talks with His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
"We are confident that these experiences and knowhow will substantially help the UAE in its pursuit of the construction and management of U-city a 'ubiquitous city' which will exemplify a digital way of life and may be built in the Palm Island, where all major information systems [residential, medical, business, governmental, etc] share data, and computers will be built into houses, streets and office buildings."
The UAE and South Korea signed an IT memorandum of understanding last May to establish a wide-ranging IT cooperation system jointly pursued by the private sector and the government.
