Transforming Government since 2001
Careers UAE 2006, the country's largest and most comprehensive recruitment, education and training platform is receiving increased interest from across all sectors of business and industry from both private and public sectors.

This was announced by organiser Dubai World Trade Centre as final preparations get underway for the sixth edition of the show, which will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 23 to 25.

'Preliminary numbers indicate that the increased response spreads across both private and public sectors,' said Project Manager Asma Al Sharif. 'More and more companies are seeing Emiratisation as a key priority aim in their strategic plans for the future and recognise Careers UAE as the ideal platform to prospect and recruit young talented UAE nationals,' she added.

Participation from the private sector, which includes banks, multi-nationals, media and IT-related companies, has increased by over 10 per cent from last year and represents over 50 per cent of the total participation, while public sector entities taking part in the exhibition has grown 15 per cent over last year.

Among the new entrants this year are big names like Al Naboodah Group, Gargash Enterprises, Amlak Finance, Daman Securities and Dubai Petroleum Company, while Dubai e-Government pleased with the response to their participation last year, have increased their presence significantly with over 10 government companies taking part under their umbrella.

Human Resources departments across the country see Careers UAE as a key vehicle to target young UAE talent and spare no effort to scout and attract the best to their ranks. Over the years Careers UAE has evolved into a key forum where all parties concerned with recruitment, training and education can meet and interact more frequently and effectively than ever before.

"HSBC's aim is to market itself to UAE nationals as a 'preferred employer'amongst the Banking & Finance Industry through its participation in Careers UAE. In 2005, HSBC achieved 40% Emiratisation of its total workforce in the UAE. Our objective is to recruit quality UAE nationals who have the necessary skills, calibre and a 'can-do' attitude. We are proud to be a Gold Sponsor for Careers UAE 2006 and look forward to yet another successful year,' said HSBC Graduate Recruitment Manager Juhaina Al Fardan.

The exhibition provides a favourable atmosphere for educational and training institutions and employers to discuss ways and means of matching up education and training outcomes to the actual needs of the labour market.

'We believe that people are the essence of our work. Through effective management of this valuable asset, we aim to make DTCM the Employer of choice,'said Ibrahim Yaqoot Manager Human Resources, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing one of the key participants at Careers UAE over the years and the silver sponsor for 2006.

On the sidelines of the exhibition itself is a comprehensive programme of informative and educational seminars and workshops tailor-made for those involved in career development and recruitment. Students, graduates, job seekers, employees, teachers and exhibitors can attend these workshops and debates covering a wide range of topics relating to career opportunities and trends in the UAE.

The exhibition, which is being supported by Platinum Sponsors Dubai Aluminium Company (Dubal), Gold Sponsors' HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank and Silver Sponsor the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), has drawn interest from over 140 participating companies.
