H.E. Engineer Fatima Obeid Al Jaber, Assistant Undersecretary of Building Projects Sector of Abu Dhabi Municipality, unveiled the Facilities Maintenance and Management Systems (FMMS) Portal and the Building Permits System (BLS) Portal at the Construct Abu Dhabi 2006 exhibition.
The FMMS Portal will provide customers, contractors and consultants with support and technical information related to their business transactions with the Maintenance & Operations Directorate in a more efficient, beneficial, and collaborative manner. The FMMS portal features different applications that automate processes such as maintenance work requests and approvals, payments, preventive maintenance to name a few. Through the BLS Portal, consultants, building contractors and owners will be able to obtain building permits, licenses for building and construction works, and various other licenses online. The BLS Portal will also contain information about the services provided by the Building Permits Directorate, regulations and guidelines for building, planning, laws, and fees.
'The launch of the FMMS and BLS portals is part of our ongoing e-government initiative and is a reflection of our commitment to simplify processes within the Municipality and to provide quality services to our customers. Our aim is to make every government transaction easy, fast and paperless. This will reduce our staff's workload, eliminate the manual processing of documents, and will save time for our customers who don't want to come personally to the department' H.E. Engineer Fatima Obeid Al Jaber Assistant Undersecretary of Building Projects Sector of Abu Dhabi Municipality said.
'The portals and applications will convert the Maintenance & Operations and the Building Permits Directorates into paperless directorates and will provide department employees, consultants, contractors, and customers with faster and more efficient service options. We are confident that these portals will further enhance the efficiency, productivity, and services of the Abu Dhabi Municipality,' she added.
The FMMS Portal and group of applications, inducted by the Maintenance & Operations Directorate, will help in expediting maintenance requests and orders efficiently, monitoring transactions through automated online follow-up capabilities, assist in improving the Maintenance Strategic Plan of Abu Dhabi Municipality, and improve the quality of the services provided by the department, and reduce time and cost.
The BLS Portal, initiated by the Building Permits Directorate, offers consultants, building contractors and owners better and faster services such as online submission of building permits requests, automated issuance of different types of building permits, online documents & engineering drawings submission and review, automated data integrity checking, and status tracking reports to name a few.
'We are honored to be working closely with the Abu Dhabi Municipality on the FMMS and BLS portals which are part of the systems being rolled-out through the DMA Computerization project. The key to success lies in the government's use of technology to provide high quality support and services to the public,' said Dani Diab, General Manager of Emirates Computers Abu Dhabi. 'The Abu Dhabi Building Projects Sector has always been in the forefront in adopting the latest technology and IT solutions to cater to the needs of the public. With the launch of the FMMS and BLS portals and applications, Abu Dhabi Municipality will become one of the best municipalities in the Middle East in e-governance, innovations and e-services,' Mr. Diab concluded.
