The Building Permit Certification System will cut through the red tape involved in construction projects by eliminating the manual processing of documents. It is the biggest eGovernment implementation ever undertaken by Dubai Municipality.
The completion of this latest phase will ensure that 100% of transactions between DM and building contractors in the emirate will be online.
According to DM, the system will not only reduce the workload of its staff but also help to provide a comprehensive database of buildings, which will help decision makers at the authority in their strategic planning of future roads. It will also give users access to information on all major construction projects underway in Dubai.
The first phase of the Building Permit Certification Service was implemented in July 2005, offering 24 ‘eServices’ to consulting companies. The second phase will offer 30 services, mainly for construction companies. The third phase of the project is targeted towards building owners, and will be introduced immediately after the launch of the second phase.
“The launch of the second phase of this project is a major landmark for Dubai Municipality and reflects our commitment to provide high quality services to our clients,” added Al Shibani.
