Launching the eServices Centers and the eKiosks come as part of the service delivery channels for the eGovernment, beside the other channels: eGovernment Portal, Mobile Gateway, and National Contact Center), where users can benefit from the eservices through the channels at anytime and anywhere.
The aim of launching the eServices Centers is to provide the users with centers that can assist them in completing their transactions for any governmental entity, by the assistance of specialized team. The ekiosks are available in public places frequently visited by public such as: shopping malls, hospitals, and a number of governmental entities.
The eKiosks are machines that resemble and work much in the same way as ATM machines, thereby allowing customers to complete their own eServices easily. Currently the eKiosks provide 23 government eservices, three payment services: Electricity and Water Outage Complaints, Renewal and Payment of Mailboxes, and Payment of Criminal Order. Others are: Flight Information, Check Drugs Prices, Body Mass Index, Maternity Date Calculator, Postal Packages Tracking, Refuse Bags Status Tracking, Legality of Foreign Worker, Student Immunization Record, Check your Blood Record, Unit Maintenance Request Status, Radiology Result Status, Health Worker Immunization Record, Currency Converter, Accredited Mission in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Contact Details of Salmaniya Medical Complex, Contact Details of Hospital, and Contact Details of Health Centers.
The ceremony was launched by His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Atteyatallah Al Khalifa, at Moda Mall in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed CEO of the eGovernment Authority (eGA) and Mr. Mohammed Malik CEO of CrediMax.
On this occasion His Excellency Shaikh Ahmed bin Attayatallah Al Khalifa, stated: "The eKiosk is one of the innovative means to benefit from the electronic services provided by the government. This service can make government and the public closer in line with the concept of quality and integration of services launched through the various delivery channels."
His Excellency pointed out that the service is enjoying the highest level of security, privacy and flexibility.
He also confirmed that the leading initiative is within the main objectives for the e-government vision in Bahrain to provide government e-services through multiple channels available for everyone according to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Attayatallah Al Khalifa highlighted the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology, and their excellencies ministers and members of the Supreme Committee who exerted tremendous efforts. He expressed his thanks to the wise leadership of Bahrain for this initiative and constant follow up and support which enabled Bahrain to be in the forefront in this field.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs announced the launch of all the 35 machines in all areas of Bahrain out of 35 machines which were planned to be deployed since the commencement of the project. They were placed in carefully selected places easy to reach by people to carry out their transactions anywhere and anytime.
For his part Mr. Mohammed Malik CEO of CrediMax said that "We are proud today to launch the eKiosk service aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the people and encourage them to carry out their government transactions electronically. These machines are one of the most advanced in carrying out transactions and enable users to access the service and select what is suitable."
It is worth mentioning that CrediMax is one of the pioneer companies in the field of issuance and acceptance of credit cards in the Kingdom of Bahrain and currently undertakes the entire project of "e-machines" in Bahrain.
In addition to the eKiosks, the eGovernment Authority is providing 15 (eService Centers) as another channel for service delivery. The service enables people to access various government eservices of any ministry or governmental entitiy, noting that a number of specialists were appointed to provide required assistance to carry out the transactions easily. These centers are distributed to the areas of Bahrain in order to enable everyone to access e-services.
