Local self-government minister M B Rajesh conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the Smart City project of Cochin Smart Mission Ltd (CSML).

The minister who visited Kochi on Saturday held discussions on the progress of projects including Intelligent City Surveillance System (ICSS) and Integrated Command Control Communication Centre (IC4), with CSML CEO Shaji V Nair and mayor M Anilkumar.

During the visit to ICSS control room, the minister evaluated the functioning of the camera surveillance network deployed across the city and at the Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plant.

As part of this camera surveillance initiative, CSML has installed 464 cameras in 141 locations across the city. The cameras installed in Brahmapuram are equipped to detect unwanted entry, fire incidents, monitor vehicle traffic, and ensure comprehensive monitoring of the entire plant.

Rajesh reviewed IC4, where he monitored the GIS and flood mapping activities conducted across the city. This facility enables early flood alerts, facilitating the smooth evacuation of residents to safety camps.
