Apart from Luckow, Varanasi and Agra also managed to secure a place in the top 10 Smart Cities in India in February
Moving closer towards its aim of becoming one of the cleanest cities in the country, Lucknow has managed to secure the 8th rank in the Smart City Ranking in India in February. Notably, the Union Ministry of Urban Development announces these rankings every month, on the basis of the projects that are currently running or completed under the ambit of Smart City Mission. With a remarkable progression from last month's ranking when Lucknow stood at the 16th spot, the Capital city jumped 8 places to bag a rank in the top 10 Smart Cities of India, this month.
3 UP cities make it to the top 10 list
According to the officials, the number of measures undertaken by the authority under the Smart City Mission has made it possible for Lucknow to achieve this feat. With the establishment of an Integrated Traffic Management System, Smart City Office, Command Control Centre, Health ATM and much more, Lucknow has truly turned into a Smart City. Notably, the authority is also constructing smart roads and repairing the sewer system of the city.
Taking note of the progress, the concerned department has awarded Lucknow with the eighth position in the Smart City Ranking this month. Apart from Lucknow, two other cities of Uttar Pradesh have also made it to the list of top 10 Smart Cities in India. While Varanasi secured the third position this month, Agra secured fourth place in Smart City Ranking in India.
List of top 10 Indian Smart Cities in February
While Bhopal has been crowned as the best Smart City in India this month, Indore which is the Cleanliest City in India is placed at the second position. Varanasi and Agra managed to secure the third and fourth position while Surat and Pune were placed at the fifth and sixth spot, respectively. On the seventh rank stood Ranchi, while Lucknow bagged the eighth rank this month. Udaipur stood at the ninth position this time whereas Jaipur managed to bag the tenth place this time.
