The district administration has formed an action force to make the district digitally smart. A meeting of various government departments and voluntary organisations held at the Collectorate conference hall here the other day decided to form a panchayat-level action force. Public servants, Akshaya entrepreneurs, organizers of common service centers and volunteers will be included in the action force.
The district administration, National Informatics Centre, Vikaspeadia- an online portal under the Electronic and Information Technology department under the Central government and district E-Governance Society have jointly formed the action force. The action force will organise awareness classes to reach all online services of the government to the general public. Awareness programmes on online services under the government and semi-government organization, private online services, digital literacy, digital economic literacy, social media, cyber security and all other online services will be arranged at the local level by the action force.
The action force will function under four categories: coordination, awareness, technical advice and social media. The monitoring of the force will be under the district collector. District Informatics Officer R. Parvathi Devi, District e-Governance Society project manager Beril Thomas and Vikaspiedia coordinator C.V. Shibu will manage the activities of the force. District collector T.V. Anupama said the project would play a crucial role in reaching services to the marginalised people of society and youngsters.
