Nagaland chief secretary, Banuo Z Jamir emphasized the need to embrace e-governance on Thursday, adding that technology, especially IT, had a tremendous impact on every sphere. Addressing a daylong workshop on e-governance organized by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, she said a paradigm shift in governance was required for an efficient, effective and relevant delivery mechanism.
Jamir added that through the use of information, electronic and communication technologies, the government and all its departments could develop a shared database. This would facilitate intra-departmental work and reduce delay and cost, she said.
