Highlighting the theme ‘e-Governance: Vision to Implementation’, the 17th National Conference on e-Governance will be held at Le Meridien Convention Centre on Thursday and Friday.

The most effective and innovative IT strategies in transforming governance will be discussed at the two-day conference.

There will also be an attempt to ascertain the quality of service and achievements of a transparent, effective, responsive and accountable system of governance.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the conference. V Narayanasamy, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, will be the chief guest. Industries and IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty will preside over the function.

The conference is jointly organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Department of Electronics and Information Technology under the Union Government and Department of Information Technology under the state government.

The conference will be forum for meaningful interaction to policy makers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to deliberate, interact and recommend an actionable strategy for good governance, besides ways to improve the standard of services rendered to the common man.

The National Association of Software and Services Companies is the knowledge partner for the conference. Annual national awards on e-governance recognising and promoting excellence in e-governance initiatives of different participants will be distributed during the conference.

About 1,000 delegates from government, corporate sector, industry and academia are expected to attend the conference, which will have multiple plenary sessions on different e-governance themes to be addressed by eminent speakers.

An exhibition is also planned for both the public and private sectors in which the organisations who make the major utilisation of information technology will be showcasing their services, products and achievements in the field of e-governance.

From Kerala, Akshaya, Infopark, Technopark, State Bank of Travancore, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and KINFRA are among the exhibitors.
