Revenue department officials said they had taken measures to solve initial problems. "Some applicants have complained that they had to go to Akshaya centre and village offices concerned to avail services. In some areas scanning and printing facility is limited and lengthy documents will have to be taken to the village office directly for verification. Once we have a facility to e-copy documents, issuance of certificates will become easier," said additional district magistrate B Ramachandran, adding that steps will be taken to ensure that there are enough scanners and printers at village offices.
Seven taluk offices, 124 village offices and 165 Akshaya centres have been chosen for the project.
In the first phase, 23 certificates - identification, caste, relationship, nativity, succession, liability, location, domicile, income, community, inter-caste marriage, life, valuation, conversion and destitute - can be availed from Akshaya centres.
