At present, six districts in the State are e-districts, including Ernakulam, which was declared as e-district today at a function here by the Chief Minister.
Chandy said the State had lagged in making use of the IT wave.
He said the Centre had given 30 days time to complete the e-governance project. This would enable the citizens to obtain certificates online from various departments from a network of taluk offices, 124 village offices and 165 Akshaya centres.
Various certificates including caste, identity, relationship, nativity, succession and liability would be available through Akshaya centres.
Revenue Minister, Adoor Prakash, who presided over the function, said instances of Akshaya kendras overcharging the public had come to his notice. Action would be taken against such people, he said.
