Transforming Government since 2001
An international delegation comprising 17 members from the Mongolian Government is in the city to learn about Akshaya as part of the overall study tour to the country to learn about e-governance activities.

The delegation was guided by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India, to visit Akshaya to study the model as a one-stop-shop for citizen services.

The delegation was led by Nyamjav Darja, Deputy Chief, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of Mongolia. Felix Fellmann, Country Director and Diepak Elmer, Governance Programme Manager of Swiss Co-operation Office of the Embassy of Switzerland, were also part of the delegation.

The delegation met with Akshaya director, Korath V Mathew, and the entire Akshaya team. Korath Mathew made a presentation on Akshaya’s activities since its inception and how it created a strong network of citizen service centres across the state.

The team visited the Akshaya units in the district and witnessed the UID enrolment activities and other services offered by Akshaya.

“For DIT to recommend to the delegation from Mongolia to visit Akshaya is a testimony to the fact that the model of citizen services we have created in Kerala is something that the Central Government considers a success of e-governance initiatives in Kerala. It was a privilege for Akshaya to showcase our initiatives to the

delegation from Mongolia and they were very impressed with our services and the way we conduct our activities,” said Akshaya director Korath V Mathew.

The Mongolian team’s visit to the state capital was part of their one-week study on India’s IT initiatives in governance and was organised by the Bangalore-based NGO, IT for Change.
