"In order to combat corruption and to bring in efficiency, this system of e-governance is needed. The new website gives information about various key officers of PWD and how they can be contacted. The site even has detailed maps of the state highways and national highways in Bengal. Also, the website mentions the status of new roads in different parts of Bengal. All departmental circulars and tenders can be accessed through this site," Mamata said.
The chief minister on Thursday launched Kisan credit cards so that the farmers, both sharecroppers and lessees, can get the advantage of this card. She said the state government's endeavour is to enable all farmers get bank loans easily for farming. The farmers' access to bank loan is of utmost importance to save their crops," she added. She said that the banks will provide interest rebate for repaying promptly.
