CCAOI (Cyber Cafe Association of India) along with Connect9 & Airlink Wireless has taken the first step towards making this cost user friendly, affordable & reality. Understanding the requirements of the IT Act 2000 and the hardships & concerns our small businessmen face almost on daily basis, whether due to lack of knowledge or clarity.
We all are aware of the threat posed by “Cyber Terrorism” and steps being taken by Govt. to help curb terrorism to the hilt but one of the major challenges remains, to authenticate Internet access & connect a piece of communication to its rightful owner. While everybody has started collecting proofs of residence and photo IDs before allowing Internet access, requirement of ease associated with centrally authenticated credentials and availability of Internet usage data at a central location, was always desired.
CCAOI Director, Amrita Choudhury promised at the start of this year: We are sincerely working over the ecosystem where every bit comes to us as free - such as security, as also café management software’s, near to zero cost bandwidth, free language fonts, free legal advice and free access to one standardized e-Commerce and e-Governance portal….. We promised…….We deliver!!!
CCOAI (Cyber Cafe Association of India) in association with Connect9 & Airlink Wireless, has come up with a solution that shall finally ease the lives of cyber cafe owners, apart from being compliant to the recommendations provided by the Govt., towards Cyber Security & Surveillance by providing a Unique Identification (UI) to all cyber cafe customers & secured authentication and all this FREE with negligible monthly Maintenance Charges. Using this UI, any person will be able to use cyber cafes all over the country, without having to prove his/her identity, every time. This shall help cybercafé owners to adhere to the government norms for tracking the details of every user, in an efficient & cost effective manner.
“Café surveillance has been till now been a major challenge for our Cybercafé Members across the country. This solution we feel shall finally ease the lives of the cyber cafe entrepreneurs and help them adhere to the government norms” says Amrita Choudhury, Director CCAOI. The Cyber Café Association of India (CCAOI) is a body representing the ecosystem of Cybercafés in India and is responsible for bringing to the forefront and voicing the issues of these entrepreneurs and works closely with the Government, Regulators, Police & Policy Makers.
“We are very excited to be a part of this huge venture and collaboration with CCAOI to offer our DoT Compliant secure solution to the Cyber cafes of India, which are the most prominent gateways to Internet access and collaboration between the common man and rest of the world,” said Paramjit Puri, CEO Airlink Wireless. Airlink is the leading provider of secure Wi-Fi products and services in India and South Asia.
“Cyber Security & Surveillance System is the first step Connect9 takes for addressing the challenges faced by India’s Cyber Cafés and intends to bridge the gap between the Policy Makers vision & actual implementation at the ground level,” said Kapil M Kumar, Director Connect9. Connect9 is the front ending arm for CCAOI, which shall be instrumental in providing all member Cybercafés of CCAOI to become as ‘one stop service centres’ for e-Commerce & e-Governance.
