Transforming Government since 2001
The State Government is all set to launch a state service delivery gateway (SSDG) system as an integral part of the National e-Governance Action Plan of the Centre. The SSDG project aims to make the services and details of all government departments accessible to common man through common service delivery outlets and to ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability of such services.

Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) is the nodal agency for the Kerala State Service Delivery Gateway. Information Technology secretary Ajay Kumar told Express that the detailed project report (DPR) of the SSDG submitted by the State Government was approved by the Centre and Rs 15 crore was sanctioned for the project. The Centre has decided to execute the project in four states in the first phase of the scheme.

A portal will be designed and developed for the project. In order to ensure the interoperability of various e-governance projects, the SSPG will act as the middleware. Through the portal, details of all government departments will be accessible for all.

Akshaya Centres would help the people get the benefits of the SSDG. Tenders would be called for appointing an implementing agency of the project and the work in connection with the project was expected to start within three months, Ajay Kumar said.

As a first phase, 55 services of 14 government departments including those of Revenue, Motor Vehicle, Fisheries, Ports and Harbours and Local Self Government, will be available through the portal. The services of e-district project will also be available through the portal. At present through e-districts project, 30 government services can be provided.

“The portal will be a repository of electronic forms which will help the people download forms of various government departments such as Public Service Commission and they could submit their application electronically through a common gateway.

The facility of e-payment will be available through the portal later,” said project nodal officer Sabarish K.
