Known as i-serve, these kiosks will look at providing other utilities in the education segment, apart from primarily providing certain insurance and ticketing services, says Anirudh Prabhakaran, Executive Director and President, South Asia, 3i Infotech. He claims that the company has been seeing a positive traction at the kiosks.
Each of these centres will be set up at a cost of Rs 1-1.25 lakh spread across nine states while being networked and automated. 3i Infotech is looking at providing e-governance and business to consumer services in rural market through IT kiosks. Around 28-30 percent of the company's revenue comes from the Indian market.
The company, which recorded a consolidated revenue of Rs 608.82 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2008, has seen certain caution and postponement in buying decisions.
