Underscoring the effective functioning of primary health care centres and community health centres, considered as the cornerstone of the rural health care system, the governor reiterated the government’s commitment in the health sector referring to programmes like NRHM.
The governor sees the heath indicators of the state to be poor and appealed the doctors to take it as a challenge and try the best to provide adequate health to all especially the rural and tribal people. He urged upon the private sector to consider setting up of medical colleges.
State law, industries and rural development minister Mr. Biswabhusan Harichandan too urged upon the private sector to establish sophisticate hospitals and medical colleges for providing better health care service.
Among others state higher education minister Mr Sameer Dey , NMO national president Dr JP Goyal were present at the occasion. There were as many as 700 participants from across the country in the function.
