Madhya Pradesh is among a few front-ranking Indian states to use e-governance effectively in providing health services and promoting trade, business and industry, according to a survey.
A nation-wide survey by DataQuest magazine found Madhya Pradesh among leading states like Kerala, Delhi, Gujarat and Goa in the use of e-governance, said an official. The survey was conducted in 18 states and seven union territories.
It adjudged Madhya Pradesh the best in providing health services, in land sale and purchase, execution of rules and procedures through e-governance.
The state occupies top position in rendering pubic utility services through e-governance in areas such as municipal corporation, land (revenue), income tax and law. It also stood first in making proper arrangements to provide e-payment facility to the corporate sector.
The state was found second in vehicle and land registration, and third in works relating to education and transport through e-governance.
