In addition, OSTI's Federal R&D Project Summaries Database still showcases records of ongoing and recently completed R&D projects from the Department of Energy (DOE), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The cross-agency portal is one of several OSTI egovernment initiatives. OSTI's Federal R&D Project Summaries database is designed to provide a unique window to the Federal research community, allowing agencies to better understand the research and development efforts of their counterparts in government.
An enhanced search technology, developed by Deep Web Technologies for OSTI, allows users to search with one query across project summaries from all included databases. Summary results are relevancy ranked and results can also be displayed by agency resource, if a particular agency is of special interest.
Records can be searched from the following databases:
- SBA Technology Resources Network (Tech-Net);
- DOD Technology Transfer Database (T2);
- USDA Current Research Information System (CRIS);
- EPA Science Inventory;
- DOE R&D Project Summaries Database;
- NIH Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP);
- and NSF Awards Database.
