Transforming Government since 2001
Texans can now order copies of their driver records online at www.TexasOnline.com, the official website for the State of Texas.

This new service allows eligible driver license and commercial driver license holders to order a driver record from home or work using a valid credit or debit card seven days a week, 24 hours a day. “We are pleased to be able to expand our online services to include the ordering of driver records,” said Col. Thomas A. Davis Jr., director of the DPS. “Drivers often need a copy of this record for defensive driving class or employment screening purposes. We hope to save the public time and trouble with this innovation.”

The online driver record ordering process is simple. A person only needs information from their current driver license to complete the transaction.

The following types of driver records can be ordered:

  • Type 1, Status Record: $4.50
  • Type 2, 3-year Driving History Record: $6.50
  • Type 3, Complete Driving History Record: $7.50
  • Type 2A, Certified 3-year Driving History Record: $12
  • Type 3A, Certified Complete Driving History Record: $12. This record is acceptable for a defensive driving course.
  • Type AOR, Abstract Driver Record: $22
Individuals can request a driver record on a non-commercial or a commercial driver license. The printed driver record will be postal-mailed within five business days after successful completion of the online transaction. Fees for these services can be paid using any major credit card.

“Visitors can access this service at www.TexasOnline.com with confidence because the website incorporates the highest level of security available today. Services are available in both English and Spanish,” said Charles Bacarisse, chairman of the TexasOnline Authority.

The TexasOnline Authority oversees the development of electronic government services by state government agencies in Texas. DPS has worked with www.TexasOnline.com to offer drivers the option of renewing their driver license for the last two years and updating the address on their driver´s license over the Internet for the past year.

DPS and the TexasOnline Authority have developed these online services in cooperation with BearingPoint, Inc., (NYSE: BE), one of the world´s largest business consulting and systems integration firms.

“We´re delighted to be working on this project with the State of Texas to provide these services,” said Gary Miglicco, BearingPoint´s National Director for E-Government Services. “To date, more than 900,000 Texans have taken advantage of convenient online services offered by DPS on www.TexasOnline.comthat are safe and secure.”
