Transforming Government since 2001

Chief Technology Officer David McCurdy on some of the major initiatives the state has recently completed.

Colorado CTO David McCurdy has been busy this year. At the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) annual conference, he described a number of major projects that have been launched in just the last 90 days, from health and human services applications to new policies around IT architecture.

Next on McCurdy’s list is a major multi-agency citizen engagement platform that will allow Colorado residents to access common services like vehicle registration renewals and easily search for other state applications they may need.

McCurdy says this will help resolve one of the central challenges of citizen engagement: “How do I stop government from asking citizens the same questions over and over … how do I give them more control and ultimately quicker, faster workflows?”
