Educating veterans and health care providers on different medical technologies available for treatment is now on the move.

Telehealth Education Delivered, also known as TED, is a vehicle with technology that allows providers and veterans to check out the latest equipment for healthcare.

The van works to help to educate people on resources at our local VA, demonstrate ways to extend healthcare access, and collaborate with healthcare providers.

Telehealth specialists say the technology offered provides a benefit to veterans who are not living near a VA medical center --by bringing services closer to their community patient clinics.

"Equipment like the cart would be out at that clinic and now the patient can go locally to their clinic and still see their provider at the medical center. So instead of driving two or three hours to the medical center they can go 10-15 minutes away," said Telehealth Specialist Leslie Fernyhough.

Those with Telehealth say our local VA medical center will be seeing the newest gadgets in the near future.
