The 2012 Best of the Web recognizes the most innovative state Web portals. Sites are judged on overall efficiency, economy, functionality and design. The review is conducted by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies.
This year, RI.gov optimized the site for mobile first, desktop second. The concept is called responsive design and the result is a faster, better experience for everyone.
RI.gov offers over more than 80 online government services developed at no cost to the state as part of the ongoing partnership between the state of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Interactive. To learn more about the new innovative RI.gov design, please visit: www.ri.gov/design.
