After OPM rejected GAOs suggestions, original contractor TMP Worldwide Government Services of New York, put the new site up quickly.
The new USAJobs simplifies the process of locating and applying for federal jobs, said OPM director Kay Coles James. It will save job seekers time and frustration as well as making the federal hiring process more efficient.
The site, which has a standard format for job postings, lets users create one resume and submit it for multiple job openings. Users also can view real-time status reports about their applications, OPM said. The revamped site has a new user interface that simplifies navigation and job searches.
OPM is planning a third module by Dec. 31 that will integrate agencies job search engines and resume builders.
