Healthcare Organizations and Solution Providers were evaluated in 12 different categories under one of 17 classifications. An independent panel of 116 judges, specializing in healthcare, or online industries, evaluated over 1,100 entries on a standard of Internet excellence and peer excellence.
Element115.net, an eHealth solutions company based in Chicago, IL, was awarded Gold in the category of Best Interactive Site: Business/Process Improvement Applications or Products for iCareTools™, a suite of social networking applications for healthcare providers.
“We are very excited to be recognized for our new solution offering in social media,” stated Bob Ronchi, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Element115. “We find our healthcare customers are looking for ways to credibly interact with their healthcare consumers on the web.”
iCareTools™, comprised of seven social networking applications, is available by online subscription and easily integrated into the healthcare provider website by non-technical personnel. Each application is customizable and offers an administrative interface for ease of use. The iCareTools™ applications are available as an all-inclusive suite, or a la carte for selective use. The applications offered in iCareTools™ include:
- Comments
- Ratings
- Ask an Expert
- Question & Answer
- Threaded Discussions
- Tell Your Story (Testimonials)
- Relevant Content (Tagging)
Element115 hosts the applications, eliminating any hardware or software investment for the provider. “We see that healthcare IT departments are currently consumed with projects around patient medical information, so providing a hosted solution for the consumer website makes this much easier and timely for the marketing organization to implement,” stated Venkatesh Korla, President of Element115.net.
Social networking is a natural application for healthcare consumers who want to compare the available care in their local area or seek support groups and blogs for experienced feedback. Healthcare organizations realize the need to participate in social networking and are driven by the need to provide trusted, reliable information about diseases, conditions and the latest treatments. By deploying social networking tools on their website, providers offer an avenue for consumers to communicate easily and conveniently, while building goodwill and branding for the provider in the community.
iCareTool Comments and Ratings applications have been implemented on the UAB Health System website and were formally introduced, along with web site www.iCareTools.com in November at the Healthcare Internet Conference in Las Vegas, NV.
