“We are honored to be selected for this award,” said Joe Fleckinger, Deputy Director of Information Technology for Oklahoma Office of State Finance. “OK.gov’s Content Management System is an outstanding example of a thoughtful and well-designed solution that more than 50 state agencies are currently using.”
With the Content Management System, agencies can create and maintain Web sites without technical knowledge or experience. The system’s popularity stems from its straightforward user interface and compliance with state and national accessibility requirements. The Content Management System also uses a common template, which was created to produce a consistent design and navigation structure for all state agencies. By using similar layouts, users will always know they are visiting an official Oklahoma government Web site.
Agency representatives have the ability to customize their Web sites using the text editor within the system, which is similar to using Microsoft Word. This significantly reduces the time it takes to set up a site. OK.gov also offers design customization and training support for agencies that use the Content Management System.
