Transforming Government since 2001
Applying for a job in Washtenaw County, Michigan, just got easier. eWashtenaw (www.eWashtenaw.org), the County's official eGovernment portal, has launched an integrated human resources application system that allows job seekers to apply for positions with the click of a mouse. The system accepts online applications as well as cover letter and resume attachments, and individuals interested in working for the County may now apply from anywhere in the world.

In addition to simplifying the job-posting process for applicants, the new system is generating extensive paperless back-office efficiencies by allowing Washtenaw County employees to receive and share necessary information on new job applicants with the click of the mouse.

"Washtenaw County has consistently hired world-class individuals," said Verna McDaniel, Human Resources Director for Washtenaw County. "I'm delighted that we now have a world-class eGovernment system to help manage our hiring process."

Washtenaw County currently offers several eGovernment services, including the ability to request copies of Certified Vital Records, birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates online. Citizens can also perform parcel searches, purchase customized GIS maps, and obtain pre-published reports from the Planning Department via Washtenaw County's online MapStore. Many additional eGovernment services will be added to eWashtenaw this year, including electronic permitting, online deed searches, and court eFiling.

"We are pleased that our eGovernment efforts have had a positive impact on many citizens, and we will continue to research and implement innovative ways to offer superior customer service 24 hours a day and seven days a week," said Robert E. Guenzel, Washtenaw County Administrator.

Washtenaw County's online services are built and managed by Michigan Local Interactive, a subsidiary of eGovernment firm NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV).
