Transforming Government since 2001
Indiana's official government portal, IN.gov, has been named the ninth best e-government site in the United States, according to a study by the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University.

Kentucky.gov is ranked 21st in the country.

Researchers at the Taubman Center evaluated the sites of all 50 states, analyzing various electronic features, including availability of basic information, readability, online publications, language translation, disability access, privacy policies, security and a number of online services.

This is the seventh year the Taubman Center for Public Policy has conducted the survey. Last year, Indiana's Web site ranked 20th in the country, and Kentucky's site ranked 34th.

The study noted that one of the Kentucky site's innovative features is the ability to report a pothole online. Indiana's site provides a live chat to help users find information.

Kentucky also offers, for a subscription of $75 per year, access to special portions of its site, including an online vehicle information system to retrieve vehicle, title and lien information.

Indiana does not offer a yearly subscription but instead charges user fees for specific special services, including an e-mail notification of requests for proposals called BidWatch for $35 per month, business entity registration searches for $1 each, driver's license searches for $6 each, health professional license searches for $1 each, criminal history searches for $15 each and a title and lien search for $5 each.
