The Web Marketing Association's WebAward Competition had a record 2,100 entries from 33 countries in 2005. "We are delighted that the Web Marketing Association has recognized our Web site with this prestigious award," said Secretary of State Trey Grayson. "We now have a formal validation of what many of our constituents have stated all along -- our Web site provides outstanding service to the citizens of the Commonwealth."
The site was redeveloped and redesigned this past spring and has received numerous accolades and positive feedback since its launch. With the redesign, the Kentucky Secretary of State's Web site now offers information on all office responsibilities, including business services, elections, administrative services, land records, and executive information.
The new Secretary of State site also allows easy access to the office's numerous online services and business filing forms. Grayson noted that the office placed an emphasis on increasing online services with the redesign. Additionally, the site is one of the first multilingual Web sites in Kentucky state government to provide foreign businesses with access to information in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese.
The Kentucky Secretary of State's new Web site was built in partnership with Kentucky.gov, which also manages the Commonwealth's official Web site at www.kentucky.gov.
"We're making a serious effort to allow Kentuckians to conduct their business with this office online," concluded Grayson. "Our new site was designed to make that even easier and more convenient for our citizens. By putting these services online, we conduct business more efficiently and effectively."
