The public administration modernization via ICT does not only involve the digitalization of services but also the safeguard of strategic information systems from attacks and natural calamities - such as that of the State Accounting for which Sogei manages the Disaster Recovery site - or that of ACI Informatica for which Sogei is projecting and will manage the Business Continuity Service. This is what Sogei Managing Director Aldo Ricci said speaking at the round table "PA Digitalization: First implementation of the government mission" organized within the PA Forum. Ricci added: "The 'public' Sogei, technological partner of the economy ministry, promoted numerous projects and solutions for financial administration such as the building of internet sites for institutional communication among financial administration organization structures, interactive services of the tributary commission and those built for the inland revenue, for electronic clearance of goods and support tools for customs for the fight against forgery, the Sister web site of the Agency for the territory for the issue of copies of cadastral and mortgage acts, and the recently experimented electronic sending of cadastral papers, computer solutions carried out for the autonomous administration of state monopolies that allow the incisive carrying out of control activities and management of public games, the SIATEL system that already today allows regions, provinces, municipalities and other public authorities to connect to the tax information system.
"The tax information system developed by Sogei also received support from the e-Government plan issued by cabinet for information companies, which have the priority making use of ICT to accomplish the electronic interoperability among all the administration, with the end of allowing citizens and companies to browse integrated online services. "With all its experiences Sogei ks the natural candidate to have experiences with the Tax Register of EU countries as well as the supply of technologic support and know-how to Mediterranean countries and the new entries into Europe with the aim of bridging the 'digital divide' through the automation of the relative public administration".
