  • NA: Infant e-birth registration launch nears

    The Hon. Minister of Home Affairs & Immigration, Hon. Pendukeni Iivula Ithana said that the new e-birth identification system for Namibia will be launched next week.

    Speaking a day before the 3rd ID4Africa Government Forum on Electronic Identity in Africa at the Safari Court Hotel in Windhoek from 26-27 April 2017. Iivula Ithana said that the home grown solution will also be launched at the ID4 Africa meet-up where over a 100 international companies will exhibit and demonstrate their latest innovations in identity technologies and solutions, all adapted for Africa.

  • US: North Carolina: Raleigh connects technology and city leaders with Smart Cities Conference and Expo

    The Raleigh Convention Center was a hub for both digital and human networks on Wednesday as the first day of sessions convened for the Spring 2024 Smart Cities Connect Conference & Expo.

    The 4-day event started Tuesday with workshops and an award reception at SAS. It will wrap up Friday afternoon with a tour of the new Downtown Cary Park, highlighting IoT (Internet of Things) applications in the park. More than 1,000 attendees and 200+ presenters are expected, with participants traveling from across North America, as well as the European Union and as far away as Ethiopia.
