  • Australia: Feds Pin Hopes on SOA

    The federal government is pinning its hopes on a range of emerging technologies and a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to deliver the next phase of its e-Government strategy.

    The government launched its new directions for e-Government, "A responsive government, a new service agenda" at Parliament House in late March. The roadmap foreshadows plans to provide every citizen with a fully functional government service account, capable of being personalized, by 2008 to 2010. It will allow individuals to access a range of services from all level of government from a single entry point: australia.gov.au.

  • Schweiz: eCH verabschiedet E-Government-Architektur-Standards

    Der Verein eCH für E-Government-Standards hat die Version 1.1 von SAGA.ch (Standards-Architekturen für E-Government-Anwendungen Schweiz) verabschiedet und veröffentlicht. SAGA.ch enthält wie der Name suggeriert technische Richtlinien und Standards für die Entwicklung von E-Government-Anwendungen in der Schweiz. Sie sollen die Interoperabilität von ICT-Anwendungen der Behörden und beteiligter Dritter fördern sowie dahin wirken, dass teure Doppelentwicklungen und nicht kompatible Insellösungen innerhalb der Behörden vermieden werden.

  • Schweiz: Informatikstrategieorgan Bund arbeitet an eGovernment-Architektur

    Das ISB dokumentiert zurzeit die Rolle und Bedeutung von eGovernment in der Schweiz. Die ersten Resultate und Verbesserungsvorschläge sind jetzt öffentlich einsehbar.

    Das Informatikstrategieorgan Bund hat ein rund 50-seitiges Diskussionspapier zur eGovernment-Architektur Schweiz veröffentlicht. Es soll aufzeigen, welche Faktoren für ein erfolgreiches schweizerisches eGovernment-System notwendig und hilfreich sind.

  • USA: Architecture efforts coming to a head

    A slew of federal enterprise architecture initiatives from the Office of Management and Budget program management office should come to fruition in the coming weeks.

    Earlier this year, OMB’s chief architect, Dick Burk, launched a federal enterprise architecture action plan containing 18 action items, collectively led by nine organizations.

    “Some of these initiatives are farther along than others at this point,” said Adam Schwartz, a detailee in the federal enterprise architecture program management office. “It is a two-year effort,” he added while giving a presentation at a July ArchitecturePlus seminar.
