Transforming Government since 2001
A recent initiative at South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council has seen the deployment of AuPix’s AP-500 video kiosk as part of its ‘one-stop shop’ approach to deliver services in the community through the use of technology.

The AP-500 has been installed at a customer service centre to enable members of the public to discuss, face to face via video, a variety of issues with specialist teams, such as planning and building control, which are physically located in different sites across the borough.

The unit has been designed with the emphasis being on enabling people, from a location convenient to them, to have a high quality video call with the relevant council department through the single push of a button.

We are extremely excited about the inclusion of the AuPix video kiosk in the ‘one-stop shop’ project” South Tyneside’s project manager Paul Moore commented. “Its deployment means we can place council services into the community virtually, reducing the need for members of the public having to travel to various different council offices to discuss an issue. We have developed an excellent relationship with AuPix (www.aupix.com) and we look forward to rolling this project out across more locations with them.”
