Transforming Government since 2001

The "Paperless Skopje" concept means a digital city in which every administrative process is accessible and visible, said SDSM's candidate running for Skopje mayor, Kaja Shukova.

In a statement to the media on Wednesday, Shukova said she will put into service the "Open Budget", "e-Skopje" and "SMART Skopje 2" tools and projects, thus increasing transparency in the work of the city administration.

"My vision for Skopje is a city that functions in a transparent, efficient and modern way, a city that serves its citizens. The "Paperless Skopje" concept means a digital city in which every administrative process is accessible and visible. In our plan, the digitalization of public services creates a completely open city administration. The "Open Budget" tool will enable citizens to have constant insight into the spending and distribution of public funds. Electronic public procurement will ensure transparency and accountability in every procedure. The "e-Skopje" and "SMART Skopje 2" projects introduce systems for smart parking, waste, water and public infrastructure management, while integrated intelligent sensors enable monitoring of air quality, noise and weather conditions for a safer and more sustainable environment," Shukova pointed out.

Skopje mayor candidate Shukova said she will also put into operation the "Paperless City 2029" platform, a developed mobile app for citizens.

"The "Paperless City 2029" project includes a single digital platform that connects all city services, access to documents, payments and information for citizens and businesses in one place. It is a developed mobile app enabling citizens and tourists to receive information about public transport, events and services in real time. Digitalization in education and culture creates new opportunities for young people and for preserving our cultural heritage. In that sense, this is not just a technological transformation, but a vision for a city that cares about its people," Shukova noted.

She added that Skopje is becoming a smart city that uses data, analytics, and artificial intelligence for better planning and management, because "digitalization is our path to a fair, open, and smart City of Skopje for all citizens".
