Inter-Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference

State Minister for Education, Engr Muhammad Baleegh ur Rehman has said that all the provinces were working collectively for promoting education and federal government would facilitate them. He said this while hosting 6th Inter Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference (IPEMC) here.

Revision of National Education Policy 2009, National Strategy of Education with the use of ICT (Information Communication Technology), first draft policy of Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT), Sustainable Development goals post 2015 were discussed in the conference.

Special attention was given to the ICT policy, all educational institutes will be having the uniform ICT standards very soon. The minister along with other provincial education ministers decided to formulate a committee on it.

Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had allocated Rs.100 million for National Curriculum Council (NCC) wing, Baligh Ur Rehman said.

He said NCC building had been handed over to the Federal Education ministry adding that a roadmap had been finalized for NCC and work had been started on it.

The minister said that the first draft of TEVT had also been presented in the conference adding that it would be finalized and presented in the Parliament for the approval in next 30 days. Unfortunately, Pakistan had not been able to achieve MDGs due to the negligence of previous government, now Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) had been developed for 2030, he added.

The minister said “We have made a committee to achieve SDGs which has started its work so that we will be able to achieve the set gaol in a specific time,” only 0.6 children in Pakistan are studying technical education as compare to the other world, he said

“This is our collective responsibility to educate each and every child in Pakistan,” Baleegh added. Provincial Education Ministers including Rana Mashhood, Matloob Inqalabi, Muhammad Sanayee, Raza Baresha and Dr. Mukhtar also addressed the conference appreciated the efforts of federal government to achieve the maximum literary rate.
