Transforming Government since 2001

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) says that government spending in the third quarter of 2017 has only contributed 0.27 percent to Indonesia's economic growth of 5.06 percent.

Suhariyanto, Head of BPS, admitted that the government spending was not very encouraging. Because, many planning in ministries and institutions would often be accelerated towards the end of the year.

The Joko Widodo - Jusuf Kalla or Jokowi-JK administration plans to implement e-Government starting next year. The aim is for the budget to be spent effectively to alleviate poverty, and increase transparency.

However, the implementation of e-Government is still constrained by coordination between ministries and institutions that still have sectoral ego.

"Coordination between ministries and institutions must be enhanced, and avoid sector thinking," Suhariyanto said on Tuesday (11/072017).

In addition to e-Government, the government will also implement e-procurement. Where, the auction process will not be any meeting between the executor and the auction participants, so there is no unprofessional action from the government employees.

"We can have a lot of efficiency while maintaining transparency, and this is what we are doing with the 2018 State Budget,” he added.
